Las Vegas

We left Arizona on March 20th and headed to Vegas. We stayed for a little over a week. We saw lots of neat stuff and tried to find some cheap to free things to do.

I had visited Vegas a couple of times before but that was 23 and 28 years ago, and boy has it changed. Unfortunately I don't think it is a family friendly as it was back then even though to say it was family friendly then is asking a lot. Most of the great casino lobbies that were huge and open and filled with displays are now gone and replaced by gamming machines. The casino buffets that were so huge and so cheap are mostly gone, replaced by expensive restaurants, and the buffets that remain are also now pretty expensive. The things that are there for family entertainment have large price tags attached to them too, so as you can see I was rather disappointed in our Vegas experience, but thankfully we were able to show my kids a good time wile trying to keep a reign in on our budget with just a couple of splurges.
Some of the sights we saw while driving down the strip.

Even McD's was lit up.
