We are a family of four, who live in an RV, so that we can enjoy this great country of ours. We started our official road trip in October of 2016, but we had taken the RV on a couple of outings earlier so that is where our blog starts, along with the how and why of what we are doing and the events leading up to it. We were stationed in Virginia Beach the last couple of years and were staying in the Military RV parks in the area until October of 2016 when Dad retired from the Navy and we got really moving.
We Homeschool our two kids, and have since they were in preschool.
Dad finished 20 years in the Navy in October of 2016. He was a Jet Engine Mechanic and Quality Assurance Representative. He specialized with F-18 Hornets, P-3 Orions, and MH-53 Sea Stallion Helicopters. Before joining the Navy he was a Home Remodeling Contractor. His specialty was to build custom cabinets for Kitchens and Baths but he can build or repair just about anything. He even rebuilt the '71 Bronco in the pictures from the frame up.
Mom has been a Stay at Home Mom, since our son was born. Before that she was an Office Assistant and has her Microsoft Certification. She is the Primary Teacher for our kids Homeschooling Curriculum. She has been very active being an Administrative Officer with the Civil Air Patrol and with several Scouting organizations.
Son turned 15 in October of 2016. He has already attained his Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America. He is very active as a Cadet in the Civil Air Patrol (Air Force Auxiliary) and is making rank very fast. He loves Airplanes, Old Cars, and Robotics. He is thinking about becoming a pilot for the Coast Guard or getting into a Robotics Engineering field, but his options are wide open.
Daughter joined the Civil Air Patrol as soon as she met the age requirement of 12 in January of 2016. She too is very active with the group and does Rifle Drill and Cadet Competition. She is very artistic and loves Drama, Singing, and Drawing Pictures. She also loves animals and hopes to run a shelter or have a farm some day.
We have a dog named Roxy. She is a mixed breed that we got from the pound.
