THE MOVE IN

After all of the yard sales we still had a few items that were being listed on Craigslist, but we had about a month of living on RV matresses on the floor, and drawers from the RV on the floor, and only folding quad camping chairs for furniture. We still had the dining room table we were keeping but when sitting in a camping chair the table height was at our upper chest. We had a folding camp table that was lower so used that for meals instead. Our TV was promised to a friend but thankfully he was patient enough to let us keep it until we moved, along with the washer and dryer that was promised to another friend.

With all of the stuff out of the house I could focus on painting and house cleaning to get the house ready to rent. We cleaned and touched up every room. We added rock to the planter beds to make them as maintenance free as possible. We took out the above ground pool (it was wore out anyways) for liability reasons and modified the deck that had been around it into a nice sun deck. The realtor that was going to be our property manager had never seen a house so ready to move into.

We also worked on organizing the RV for living in. Funny how an RV with bunk beds, that was obviously designed for four people to live in, only has one towel holder for bath towels. Those with RV's will also relate to the fact that there is usually very little wall space to hang towels in an RV bathroom. We love "Command" brand hooks for things. Our wall covering is pretty sturdy and we felt good that the paper wouldn't rip off if the hook were to come down. We have added coat hooks in the bedroom and towel hooks in the bathroom and shelves to several cabinets that either didn't have any, or too few. Key and leash and hat hooks were added near the front door and I even made mesh storage pouches that I could mount in the bunk bed walls so the kids could put a few everyday items. They looked so good I made a few extra for by our bed and one next to the front door for doggie bags a toys.

By the time we actually moved into the RV for good, we were actually relieved as the house, with it's sparse fixtures, was less comfortable than the RV was.

We permanently moved into the RV and into Jacksonville Naval Air Station campground on 1July2016. We stayed in Jacksonville for two more weeks until we made the trip to Virginia.

It actually felt like "Home at Last".
